6 year old cat attacked for first time, advice?

I have had my cat for 6 years, since she was around 2 weeks old. I have trained her and cared for her very well, she is highly disciplined and acts on command. She has no bad habits and has never once attacked or scratched a single person. Sometimes when shes licking your arm shell give you a little nibble but immediately feels bad and will run away. Today she gave me a little nibble but then proceeded to scratch and bite very severely.. I have no clue what the hell triggered it and would like to know what could cause this sudden change after all these years? She has no visible scars or wounds that I may have touched while petting, shes also not exhibiting any behaviours indicating illness.
