We recently(2 monthsbago or so) got a 3 year old yellow lab/black mouthed curr mix from a shelter.
We already had a 3 yr old shelter cat and had just recently moved into a new house. So i was not down for this dog, but the boyfriend gets what the boyfriend wants i guess.
Anyways, I have a cat tower for her, lots of toys, good food and litter, even a window bed. And yet shes still scared to be out in the open or on the floor of the living room because half the time the dog will chase her into the bedroom. Im tired of it, the spray bottle dosnt work, positive reinforcement dosnt work, yelling dosnt work, and neither does a closed door. Im out of options and soom to be out of paitence as well.
How do i get this dog, who is occassionally smart, but never acts it. To stop chasing and stressing out both me and the cat. Her food and litter is in a room where he cant get, so she has at least on room he cant get her in. However, he does hover around the catdoor that leads into the room.
