Just came home from work today to discover that one of my sisters dwarf hamsters had died suddenly. Last night I did notice that she was kind of cold and puffed up, but thought it was nothing as she was then very active this morning. She was only seven months and was living with a littermate of the same age in a 20 gallon long tank. when I found her a side of her face had been chewed off by her littermate, I looked it up and sometimes hamsters are known to cannibalize each other when they die (I really don’t think that her littermate killed her). Does anybody have any suspicions as to what killed this hamster? Really torn up about this
