I had 3 cats. A 12 year old male, 7 year old female, and 3 year old male. The oldest cat started to become ill a few months ago. After a vet trip and normal blood work we we given the options of invasive testing and sending blood work off to a special lab across the country. We opted to just keep him comfortable. He likely had cancer according to the vets. He unfortunately took a serious turn for the worse a week ago. My husband and I were leaving for a 5 day trip and decided to put our boy down. It was heartbreaking. But, he had stopped eating completely and had always hated when we travelled. We couldn't ask our friend who was cat sitting to potentially be the one to make the call. We had to do it before hand.
My other male loved his big brother. Like followed him around, mimicked everything he did, loved his brother. Between losing his brother and then us going out of town the next day, my younger male is having some anxiety. He walks around the house and cries. He only calms down when I cuddle with him. I've already put out fresh catnip toys and feliaway plug ins. What else can I do to help him adjust?
