Hiding cats from landlord?

Ok so here’s the deal. I’m looking for apartments currently and am definitely getting one that allows pets, but...I have 4 fur babies and most places have a limit of 2 or if they allow more it’s an outrageous price for deposit + monthly fees.

I’ve considered only saying I have 3 to save a little bit of cash (assuming it’s a place that doesn’t limit to 2) because both my girls look exactly alike and could easily pass for one another.

If all else fails and I end up somewhere that only accepts 2, do you all have any tips for hiding the fact you have more than the limit? I’ve never had to deal with this so I honestly don’t know what to expect from landlords dealing with pets.

Giving my kitties up for adoption is also not an option. They have literally saved my life and some of them have been with me since they were on the bottle. They are family members and will stay with me for their entire lives.
