My beloved dog passed away last week. She had been ill for quite a long time, but her passing came very suddenly and unexpectedly (an internal bleed). I am totally heartbroken, she was my first dog and my best bud.
At first, I was totally unwilling to consider the idea of getting another dog, but after a week I'm starting to change my mind. The house is so quiet and I miss the companionship an animal provides. However, I feel really guilty at the thought of getting another dog; like I'm moving on too soon.
Is there an appropriate time to wait? Has anyone found something else that helps? I'd appreciate any help reddit, I'm a bit lost. Thanks in advance.
