How much should I save up for a cat and mini Aussie?

I have a fish and am considering getting a mini Aussie (I live in a 860 sq foot apt) and am pretty active, and adopt a 1-2 year old cat so the mini Aussie has a friend. Pet rent would be $50/month total.

There is a doggie day care near my work that my coworkers leave their high energy dogs at during work for $28 a day, and outside of that cost it offers training, boarding and grooming services. My apartment building also offers dog walkers.

I am also allowed to bring my dog into work once he’s trained and has good behavior/social skills.

Obviously these costs are adding up lol. I was thinking to start it would be good to have $5k saved for pet emergencies and an additional $1k for cat’s initial costs (toys, food, vaccines, etc., and $2k for the mini Aussie? Setting aside $500 minimum monthly in my budget for both pets?

I understand mini aussies need mental stimulation and play daily, and I feel like I’m ready to take that on in my lifestyle, and they need daily walks. I would love to be more active on the mornings before work and then take him on a run in the evening.
