So unfortunately today my family decided to put down our cat of 9 years on his birthday due to a failed kidney. It was tough, me and my sister had the strength to come see him on his final moments before he passed away.
It was tough, like really tough.
It all feels like a dream at this point and it made everyone depressed at my house. My parents decided to not to take his cremated remains and leave him at the vet. My parents already threw out the litterbox, food and the water fountain he drinks from. We are deciding by this week or next week we'll print out his pictures and keep his toys and his water/food bowl and plates and keep them in a box for memories. I feel massively depressed and not motivated to do anything at this point, so I'm wondering how to cope with this... my parents don't want another animal and it hurt throwing out the stuff that he used and it hurt more that he died by my side that we couldn't do anything about his failed kidney. :(
