Husky:Thor Rescue:Cleo (Cleo likes Thor because she loves puppies but hates adult dogs especially small dogs?)
I have socialized my husky and all ever since he was a puppy, he used to be great with self control and was super friendly with other dogs also I have never walked him with my other dog Cleo (rescue dog w aggression issues) until my mother guilt me into taking both of these dogs together on a walk (he was around 7/8 months by then) and he has picked up some dominate behaviours from that walk because he noticed how my other dog act out.
Anyways after that walk I thought he would regress back to his normal state but now if he meets with a dog he gets all dominate, and if the dog is hyper or so he will growl and will growl if I try to pull him back??? With some dogs he will bring down his dominate stance and accept the dog if the dog is chill and he also prefers small dogs over bigger dogs.
Anyways I'm glad he isn't as extreme compared to Cleo but it's still embarrassing.
Backstory on Cleo: when I first got her we cat tested her and she passed, brought her home she was good but then turned hyper and was jumping and nipping me to play, trained her to not do that, took her to petco and started to growl at dogs (red flags) took her to walk around the neighbourhood and she spotted a dog pulled me and decided to go backwards and slip out of her collar to chase, knock down an old man to try and get to his small poodle. She also did the slip out of collar thing with my mom. Trained her more but still pulls on the leash and growls (atleast she's not as crazy) this was all under 2 months of owning her (I cried a lot because I never knew she was bat shit crazy when I got her but she is very sweet at the same time I almost gave up on her) over the 2 years of owning her she has nipped me hard but in a playful manner, knocked me down several times in attempt to attack other dogs(messed up my knee lol), she also almost got hit by a car twice in attempt to get the dogs 😂. Anyways 2 years later she has calmed down A LOT! Still does the occasional growl and dominate stance but learned to not think about it too much when we go on walks and she has finally made more doggy friends
( (funny story she tried to fight with a Labrador when she escaped and then another dog came to help(it was a foster dog who now has a forever home) the Labrador and she backed down and now she loves that Labrador and it's her friend now) )
Another story I was grooming my nieghbors two huskies and Cleo was separated from the other dogs but was acting out like crazy growling and snapping at them until I decided to let her join in, she tried to fight them but was immediately shut down by the huskies (no fight just a growl and a snip) and she instantly calmed down and respected them.
So after all this socialization with her she has learned her lessons somewhat but now my husky has picked up some bad habits from her (ugh more training for him)
