This would be the first time adopting a pet. I’ve grown up with dogs and we had to put our lab down a little than a year ago, we had some issues with our daughter and he bit her pretty bad and we couldn’t find a rescue to take a senior dog with a bite history. After all that mess our daughter still loves dogs and so do we. Due to those circumstances we would like to adopt a puppy so we can make sure he/she gets the training done early and properly. We are in southeast Virginia and there’s plenty of shelters around here. Just looking for some advice and recommendations on where to start.
