Need Help With My Cat

So about three days ago, I found out my cat had worms not even a week of having him back with me. I picked him up from my sister’s house since she just had a new born baby and the cats would jump in the crib with him. I moved back in with my parents recently. Since my parents have dogs I really didn’t want to bring him here with me, but I couldn’t get rid of him since he’s my world and my child. I noticed one or two little rice grains around his butt the one day since he’s a pure black cat any dirt is noticeable with him. I didn’t think anything of it besides dirt. Until a few days later I saw a white short noodle wiggling out of his butt and started panicking. As soon as my mom got home I asked her about it and she said he just had worms and gave him this horse dewormer she uses for the dogs and gave him very little. I was so very paranoid and skeptical of it. He seemed fine after 24 hours, but the issue didn’t seem to go away. So my little ignorant self finally did research and the symptoms seems like he has a tapeworm. My cat never really had fleas and I know in my sister’s house him and the other cats would catch the mice. I finally ordered cat tapeworm dewormer and I wasn’t sure if I could use it anytime soon since He was given Strongid Pyrantal Pamoate Paste Horse Dewormer about three days ago or if I should wait ? That’s even if I’m right and my research is accurate and if he does have Tapeworms. He gets rice grains around his butt and sometimes there’s white smudge trails as well. He hasn’t thrown up at all since he’s been with me. My parents also want me to crate him at night so no worms get anywhere and I get so heartbroken every night hearing his crys. I could really use a professionals help, I’m really not sure what to do. I would love to take him to the vet, but right now we’re having tough times with money. Thank you for reading and I would appreciate any advice.
