Me and my gf moved into an apartment about 3 weeks ago. We screened in a balcony but only screened the railing and spaces in between them but not the entire free space from the railing to the ceiling. We are on the second floor and figured there was no way our cat would jump from the railing of the 2nd floor because its like 15+ feet to the ground. Sure enough at like 3am one night he did. I woke up and my gf told me he was gone. His brother is still here (cats names are Jax and Jasper), but Jasper has been missing for 3 days now and we have put the litter box outside, called for him, left food outside, yet to no avail.
They have been outside cats prior to being fully indoors, and were in a crate when we moved to the new apartment so theyve never been outside the apartments, know what its like, or anything like that. And there is no way in hell Jasper is going to come up the stairs and find his way back in our apartment because he probably has no idea where it is since he jumped off the balcony and has never seen the apartments besides the inside.
Is there anything that would help? Gf has been extremely anxious looking for him but we both have work and school so its kind of hard to manage since it gets dark so early.
