My dog (8) that I’ve had since a puppy has moved around with me a few times. Recently, my long-time boyfriend and I broke up, so we moved out into our apartment which is on the 2nd floor. She was okay at first when I’d take her out and would walk straight back up to the door. The last 2 weeks tho, she gets to the stairs and refuses to walk up. I have tried bribing her with treats and have tried to tire her out before heading back home.
She weighs 120lbs (same as me) and so I have had to pick up her front half and walk her up the stairs to get her inside. I am very frustrated and at a loss for what I can do, but I can’t keep picking her up. She’s not physically unable to get up stairs as she gets up to the 3rd floor once she’s inside, she just doesn’t want to come back in for some reason.
TLDR; recently moved and dog never wants to come back in from outside, not sure how to re-train her to come in.
