We have two cats and two litter boxes. Cats are 2 years old boy and 9 months old girl. We’ve noticed recently an intense ammonia smell from the urine. Both cats are fixed and seem in good health, but the strong odor concerns me. The younger kitten was an intense love of milk and we worry she turns her nose up at water. We don’t typically give her milk but she dives for cereal bowls and the like.
Any ideas on what could be causing this? We’re considering taking one or both of them into the vet just to be safe that they don’t have a UTI or something.
