I rescued a stray cat last night that was out in the cold for a few days. I put him in a carrier in my basement and then I the bathroom. The cat had a clear discharge on its nose when we got him inside but seem perfectly fine in the morning. My cats were never in direct contact with this other cat. This morning, I go down to feed the cat and cleaned his pee. I might’ve stepped on his peed and went back upstairs without changing my shoes because my cats were sniffing my footsteps. I was reading awful stories about FeLV, FIV and Panleukopenia spreading from contaminated shoes. The cat was taken to a rescue around 2 pm and cleaned everything with a bleach solution 1:32. I’m freaking out right now thinking I can get my cats sick because I helped this other kitty. Really don’t know what to do and this is making me very sick to my stomach.
