I've kept my 1.5yr old dog up to date with vaccines and medicines since a puppy. We moved and switched vets in the process. We've seen the new vet a couple times now. Today, my dog went in for vaccines and the tech tells me that he missed his booster shot for Lyme so they'll have to start all over. I asked why I wasn't alerted and she said my old vet should have sent a reminder. She said that they don't track shots they haven't administered. My blood was boiling and I told her that wasn't right, but what could I do at this point... Is this typical? Should the blame be on my prior vet?
Not only is my dog's health at stake, but the time I have to schedule off work for appointments and the cost of the vaccine aren't inexpensive. Guh. I feel like switching vets.
