Will my cat hate me if i get a dog?

I've grown up with my cat, we're best friends. I'm the only human being she likes, and she follows me around everywhere. She does not like other people or other cats from what I've experienced. She hisses, but doesn't scratch as she has no front claws (I'm against declawing btw, it was my dad who declawed her years ago)

Anyways, I've thought about getting a therapy dog for a long time. I struggle with severe depression and have benefited from the time ive spent with therapy dogs. My therapist recommended i adopt a dog, and after explaining my cat, said i should research if it was a good idea to adopt one, but that she noticed dogs helped elevate my mood and helped me feel safer about my trauma.

My question is if it would be a good idea considering my cat. I don't want to make her upset with her living conditions. I have experience with keeping animals apart (from my mom's cat when i lived with her), so i could do that if needed. Personally i think it's a workable situation i could handle, but i wanted to get some more opinions. Thanks!
