Advice on new kitten(s)?

My best friend's little sisters cat recently had some babies. They were born June 6th, but I knew the cat was pregnant weeks before. Said friend kept sending me pictures just thinking the cat was getting fat. She's a VERY accomplished hunter... Lol They will be getting her fixed after this.

Anywho he said I had first dibs when I get back overseas from deployment, which I thought was nice. He knew I was still really upset about my first cat baby. However I did tell him that his sister was going to have to be more responsible, I wasn't going to take in a sickly kitten (the cat had 5 but it's now 4... The sister let her dog near one and the dog thought it was a toy) I was really torn up about that and ANNOYS the hell out of me because when they brought the mama cat in as a kitten there dog did the SAME DAMN THING. Thought she was a toy!

With my friend getting into her butt about it and giving her some info from then on I think she has picked up the slack. He sends me updates,

"Week 3 my sister has kept the kittens alive."

Which is morbid as fuck but... She's just HORRIBLE at responsibility.

NOW I'm no expert on brand new kittens, (when I got my first cat he was about a year 1 old from shelter) By the time I get back the kitten I would get would be about 3 -4 months old. That's still a kitten correct? Is there anything I can tell my friend to do (vet/shots) so that the kitten will be all up to date on anything? So I could send him the funds, tell him to take them to the vet, that kind of thing?

Is there anything I can let my friend and his younger sister know as well?
