I petsit a friend's dog and when I take out her leash, she acts excited to go for a walk, tail wagging and the works. However, when we go outside we will only make it a couple yards from the house before she digs her heels in and refuses to go any further, no matter how much I pull.
Along the way she also constantly halts and looks back towards the house. At this point, I will let go of the leash and she will speedrun back home and wait for me to open the door and take her back inside. This whole "walk" takes around 10 minutes, and it's gotten to the point where I just don't do it at all because what's the point.
My theory is that she's worried that if she's gone for too long, her owners will come back and won't be able to find her?
