Dog scared to come out of my room

We have a lab/ great Pyrenees mix who is almost a year old. We have had him since he was 6 weeks. He always sleeps in his crate. We can tell him to go Night night and he goes straight to his crate for the night. Last night for some reason he would not move my outside my door until my son in law let him in my room to sleep. He told me he tried everything to get him to go to bed but he wouldn't leave from outside my door. He slept fine with me all night. Then this morning when I got up, he refused to leave my room. He would stand at the doorway and just watch me walk thru the house. I tried treats (he will always move for treats) and tried his toys, but nothing. He would jump down from my bed but wouldn't leave my room. Finally after my son in law got up and played with him for a few mins, he followed him out. What could this have been? Never done this before. He is attached to me more than my daughter and son in law, but technically he is their dog. He usually is out in the house with me most of the time.
