I'm a high school student in the midwestern USA. My school has an excellent environmental science program. Aside from the normal classwork, we do work directly with animals - in zoology class (the class I'm in) we're responsible for a lot of animal care stuff that includes direct handling.
Aside from that, my 2nd semester project is evaluating the best training strategies for our rats & mice. So I'll be doing a lot of direct handling and training in the near future.
Even though I'm not afraid of any of the animals we work with; and all of our animals are as tame as they come, I still get really nervous about handling.
Are there any tips to get more confident in handling?
