I picked up an adult female cat from the shelter that no one would adopt and was on the kill list. She's literally afraid of her on shadow. We've had her for about 7 months now, the slightest noise will freak her out, make her jump and run to hide. My kids, partner and I have all very delicately introduced ourselves and she purrs when we give her attention but she's so frightened of everything else in the house. She has no problem using the little tray in the laundry and only goes outside when it's dark and there's no wind and of one of us are out there with her.
She sleeps most the day but loves to play with feathers. Is this just her nature? Is she bored all the time? All I want is for her to feel safe and comfortable in life.
