Hello Reddit!
I’ve been wanting a cat or a dog for as long as I can remember and 2020 is the year I am finally able to adopt one :) however, I am unsure of what’s the best for me.
A little about me:
I’m a teen who lives in a two story house in the suburbs with a fairly large backyard. My family and I are gone from 7:30–4:00 everyday and we travel often in the summer but not other times of the year. My father had two German Shepards growing up but the rest of the family including me has no experience with pets before. I thought I was a dog person until I met my friend’s black cat and I fell in LOVE. That day I decided I was a cat person. I’ve really felt connected with cats in a way I never could with dogs. However fast forward a few years later and my other friend’s French Bulldog cuddled with me in my lap and my heart absolutely melted. Since then I could never really decide. My dad really would prefer a dog but my mother wants the cleanliness of a cat and my brother is like me and fine with either. I’m looking for a cuddle buddy and a pet to be there for me almost whenever I would want it to be. I’m also trying to get more active this year, so a pet to walk with would be really nice but not necessary. Also I would like a relatively cleaner pet. Mostly I just wanna a furry friend :)
