I've always been allergic to cats...

I have two dogs, both rescues... a sweet female chihuahua, 4 years now, and what we thought was another chihuahua, but turned out to be a Russky Toy Terrier, male, two years.

The Russky is HIGHLY defensive of his mommy and me.

Well, back in October, a skinny, hungry, adorable tuxedo cat showed up on our back porch. We called her 'prettygurl' for a while, and we fed her, and gave her a little house outside.

She made me sneeze.

I took Benedryl.

It got cold, and my wife suggested we let her in the house... I really didn't think she (wife) would allow that... anyway... I sneezed.. I took Benedryl.

We showed her the doggy door, and she took to it. We renamed her Reba. I brought her to the vet, got her spayed, and checked out... she is about two years old, according to the vet, and is a wonderful addition to our family now...

Strangely, I'm not sneezing anymore.

But... I've never had a cat... she wants to be near us (me), often, cries to be picked up and snuggled, rubs herself around our legs and arms, but wont just sit with us. When we take the dogs out for their peepee-poopoo walks, she comes right along, and plays with the dogs.

Night times, she plays with the Chihuahua, but the Russky puts up his fur, shows 27 rows of teeth, and growls. Not that she cares.

Any ideas on how to get Russky to be more tolerant of Kitty at night? Heck, during the day, they even eat out of the same bowl!! (She at her kitty food, Russky at his doggy food), but they eat together, sharing each other's food.
