Okay so. I absolutely adore things like rats and hamsters and their size(s) are perfect for my situation! The only problem is I'm weary of getting one because of their (somewhat) short life span.
On the one hand I want to give them a good home before they pass on, but in the other hand someone very close to me recently passed away and I'm not sure if I'll be ready to have a pet with that short of a life expectancy for a while.... The perfect animal would be one that's around that size but lives longer. I've looked at guinea pigs and bunnies/rabbits but I don't feel as though the space I have (my room) would be enough for them even if I interacted with them daily which I plan on doing with whatever animal(s) I get.
I've looked for an animal like this myself but i haven't found one. I know very well that something like this might not exist but I wanted to ask some other people incase I just missed it. If you know of one or, even just one to share your own experiences/opinions on any of the previously mentioned animals please comment! I want to take in all the information I can. I also just wanted to say that as much as I love reptiles/amphibians because of my living situation I cannot have them.
