I got this cat from my sister and he has to have this special food everyday or he gets really sick and my sister and niece were always forgetting to give it to him. I took him for my niece so she would know he's safe and taken care of and still in the family. When I took him I also got a case of his special food, I asked my sister how to get more and she said that she had the prescription and to just let her know when I am running low. This wouldn't be a problem if I didn't hate my sister. She's narcissistic and toxic and has put me through hell and if it weren't for her kids I would have cut all ties with her a long time ago. It shouldn't but I know at some point me going to her for the cat food will come back to bite me in the ass so I've been wondering how hard it would be to get the prescription and order his food myself. Can I just call a vet or would they expect to see him? Can I avoid taking him in if I know what vet she took him to originally? Do i really need the prescription or can I just order it without?
