I CAN NOT keep the cone on my kitten

Hey! I have a 6 month old kitten that I just picked up from getting spayed about two hours ago. Since then, I have desperately been trying to get this cone around her head. They just have me a bit of gauze to try and tie it around her neck to keep it on, but she goes absolutely BALLISTIC trying to get it off. Keep in mind, she’s still drugged up. I can’t imagine what it’ll be like trying to keep this on her when she’s back to normal.

I’ve tried putting her collar through the loops so that it fits around her neck as well as wrap the gauze through a loop, around her front legs, and tying at her back, but she STILL is able to get it off. And I mean she’s literally throwing herself against the ground in attempts to get it off until it’s successful.

The clinic recommended I keep it on her for 7 days and said it’s very important, but She’s not licking her incision right now, and I’m worried she’s going to hurt herself more in trying to get the cone off. I’m worried she’ll start licking at her incision when the numbing meds wear off while I’m asleep and can’t watch her.

What do I do??? The clinic closed immediately after I picked her up so I can’t call for advice. I called a 24 hour vet as well and they told me to try the collar method, but it didn’t work.
