Hi, my non-fixed male cat (9 months old) has for the past month or so been peeing frequently and spraying around the house and often not in the litter box. He also meows constantly but as soon as he gets attention (pats or talked to) or relaxes he stops. We have another male cat who recently had a bowel obstruction which cost $1500 to fix. we have had them both on Royal Canin Urinary SO for the past month and a half.
I am wondering whether this could be a behavioural issue? Otherwise he acts completely normally, eats normal, drinks normal and cuddles normal. Just sprays and pees a lot. We find pee all over the house. Due to my other cats surgery there is no way we could afford treatment for something similar and I don’t know what to do.
I’m wondering if getting him fixed may solve anything? I can’t figure out if it’s a behavioural or medical issue.
