Some cat keeps going to our house when she’s pregnant; does this mean she wants to live with us?

There’s this one girl cat with a collar who kept hanging around our backyard. We didn’t really mind her since she seemed to make the rats disappear and we didn’t really know how to stop her from coming back. She didn’t really show herself but we just caught glimpses of her from time to time. She would leave if we would go by the backyard anyways so we didn’t mind her presence.

After a few weeks, we noticed that she kept coming back with another cat. They found a home somewhere in our backyard and we realized that the collared cat was pregnant. During all this time, we didn’t pay them attention nor give them any food, since we were afraid that if we did, they’d end up staying (all of us staying in the house are not really keen on keeping pets since we all live a very busy lifestyle and we have babies in the house).

Anyway, the cat gave birth to a few kittens, and we were thinking about how to handle this and if we should prepare to be pet owners. However, the next day we found that they upped and left their little corner, along with the kittens. The mom and dad cat came back now and again to hunt some rats but that was it.

After a few months, the mom cat started coming back way more often. It also started being more comfortable with us. Before, she would run away whenever someone comes near them or if we make eye contact. But now, she seems to be more daring. Even if we walk near her she wouldn’t run away. She even started sleeping right in the middle of our backyard.

There was one time where she left her kittens by my terrace. I found them hiding in a corner and realized they’ve been there for awhile. The mom cat came back after a few hours and took them away.

One night, I woke up to some noise coming from our terrace. When I checked, I saw the mom cat with her kittens laying there, with a dead rat. I thought they were there for their usual mealtime so I went right back to sleep. When I woke up, the cats were gone, but the rat wasn’t. It creeped me tf out and made me fearful for what else they may leave outside my house. Sure, I’m grateful for their free pest control services, but I live with children and I’m afraid the cats would leave dead animals that can attract other animals that are harder to handle.

Anyway, the point of this story was just to ask whether we should be expecting this cat to be living here with us from now on? Or is it just hanging around because its pregnant again?

Also, are there ways that we can stop the cat from coming back? I would like to avoid the event that it makes a habit of leaving dead animals by our place.

I’ve done a few research about cats leaving dead animals but we’re not even their owners so maybe there’s something else going on?

I apologize for the long post but I’m really puzzled by this experience. I’m also not very well versed on the world of cats so pardon my ignorance on the matter.

We’re not really sure who the cat owner is and animal control services are not really available in our area.

TLDR; cat keeps coming back to have babies in our house, im confused as to what our relationship with her will be
