My six month old cat isn’t even attempting a jump i know it can easily make. I’ve seen it make jumps that are two or three feet higher than this one. For context I want him to jump from on top of my bed to the top of my chest of drawers which is where the cat food is (I have dogs so I have to keep the food somewhere the dogs can’t get to but the cats are able to reach.). None of my other three cats have any trouble making this jump either. When my cat was younger I always left a drawer open half way up the chest of drawers to make it easier on him, but now I’d like my drawer back. What can I do to help him make the connection that he can jump? Right now I’m just leaving the drawer closed and I don’t think it has even occurred to him that he can just jump up to the food as he just stares at it while meowing.
