So I have a fairly old male cat. He was neutered a decade and then some ago, though I don't remember if this was done before or after puberty, I believe it was sometime during sexual maturity. Now, this isn't incredibly sudden, it's more or less been extremely gradual over the last 2 years. For a long time, there was a habit where if I patted my belly or lap, he would sit there and let me pet him. He'd purr and stuff, but that's it. Over time he started to knead on me, but I thought eh, that's kitten-like attention-seeking and adoring behavior. But the last two years he started humping over me, and now it's to the point that he refuses to sit down to be pet, only being off my lap or on my lap and humping while kneading. Just to be honest, I know it's sexual activity because I think I saw his penis. At this point, I think I need to look into this.
Nothing else has changed with him. He's older than his 2-years older brother was he died, now, but could it really be some sort of cancer? And just in case it could be related in any way, other anomalies that only started becoming problems since 5 years ago or so is very occasional vomiting and spraying around the house on the exact same places. Though we have 2 other, much younger cats, which is what I think the spraying solely is, from experience I don't trust that he has a healthy GI tract or prostrate at times. Anyways, anyone have any clue what this is?
Also if it's 100% behavioral, how do I inch him back to just sitting there again?
