My roommate got a cat about a year before I moved in with her. I’m assuming she smothered her too much, as she is one of the most antisocial cats I’ve ever seen. She barely likes to be pet (except for when you give her ear scratches or booty pats), refuses to be held, and really doesn’t even like when people get close to her. We only know she’s around because of the little bell on her collar.
I’m rather reserved at my apartment. I keep to myself and don’t really socialize with my roommates that much if at all. But for some reason, her cat really likes me? She will jump on the counter or table or where ever I’m standing to get close to me, and I am literally the only person that she’s ever willingly sat in the lap of. Like, seriously, the only one and it freaks my roommate out a little bit. She’ll just jump on the couch and nestle in on my chest for a bit until she decides she’s had enough.
Does anyone know why this is? Is it because I don’t socialize as much and given the fact that she was smothered as a kitten, she doesn’t see me as a threat? It’s just all very strange — didn’t know if someone knew the reason as to why this is!
Thanks in advance.
