A friend of mine found a parakeet in their backyard. I decided to adopt it. :) I can tell it's older based on the lack of stripes on its forehead and its iris (I looked up these little "ways to tell age" online).
Should I just let the parakeet get comfortable on its own? I know it had a previous home and I'm not sure how old it is so I want to be gentle with it. It's been two days and he just started playing with his toy. He's only come out of his cage on his own once. I was taking him out with my hands but then he started nibbling on me so I guess he didn't like that.
Any guidance would be appreciated :)
