My dog takes my breath away

I have an Australian Shepherd/Blue Heeler/Border Collie mix. He's from a working lineage, managed over generations by humans who selected for excellence over breed purity.

He has been bred for excellence above all else, and he is unlike any dog I've ever had before him. Training him, working with him, is almost musical. He's an utter frisbee demon, and yesterday we started some agility work, just getting him comfortable running through the tunnel.

He's nothing short of incredible. I couldn't ask for more intelligent dog. If you saw him at work you'd think he was a ballistic computer on four legs. He is poetry in motion and there's nothing about him that isn't incredible. Yeah, he's just that good.

He does have one unfortunate habit. He likes to jump up on you. He jumps up a bit short, leans into you, and more often than not punches me right in the doohickeys. I'm pretty sure he does it on purpose, because there's just no way a dog with his sort of coordination and spatial awareness could so consistently knock one in the pills.

I told you he took my breath away.
