So my parents have 4 7 week old kittens at home, from a stray they found. One of which (a female) is going to be mine. It will be my second cat, behind my 2 1/2 year old female cat. I'm currently set to get it in 3 weeks.
I've seen stuff saying 10 weeks is fine, but also stuff insisting 12/13 weeks is the bare minimum, because the cat needs to socialize with their litter mates to learn to behave. However all of those articles seem to assume the kitten will be the only cat in the home.
So I'm trying to figure out how much those 2 weeks will matter, especially in what will be a 2 cat home? Should I try to talk my parents (who don't especially want to keep these kittens any longer than needed since their existing cat doesn't like them) into holding on to the kittens longer or am I ok talking mine at least, home at 10 weeks as planned?
