Full time single woman with a dog

So I know there is a lot of stigma on having a pet when you’re single and live alone. But threw this pandemic and everything that’s happened. My dog has been a blessing and a god send. I absolutely stress and worry about my dog. But for anyone who needs some advice or piece of mind…he’s perfectly fine while I work 8 or 9 hours a day. He sleeps I think mostly. No accidents, nothing is destroyed. He’s 8 months old and a malamute, German Shepard, lab mix.

The guilt is immense but honestly when I’m home I devote all of my time to exercising him, taking him to the dog park, playing, walking, treats, games, toys. I’m constantly looking for ways to keep him entertained and I try to work mainly later shifts. He does perfectly fine and we have a very strong bond from so many fun activities together. I take peace knowing how much I love and care for him. He loves his best life, run of the whole apartment, endless treats toys and chews, lots of doggie buddies. Is it hard to leave him while I work? Every single day. But is the guilt snd exhaustion of running him ragged worth it? Oh yeah. Every single time. He’s been an amazing companion snd I can’t imagine life without my dude now.
