Hi all, I am a dog owner in need of a foster for about 2 months, starting next weekend.
My situation is that I am a social worker leaving a low paying job where I can't pay my bills to a well paid job in a new city. However, I have no savings and getting your own rental is impossible due to costs of deposits, and many want first and last upfront. So, I am having to rent out a room in a house. The house already has several dogs and mine isn't good with dogs.
In about two months I will easily have a deposit for a new place, but for now I just need to save up. I hate that a two month period could cause me to lose my dog. I can't afford a kennel, in fact, I will be just barely paying September rent and can't even afford a moving truck - i'm selling everything I can't fit in my car.
I've applied EVERYWHERE for a temporary foster home and am really losing hope. If it helps, I am in the Sacramento area, and yes I've contacted the SPCA, but due to covid they aren't taking calls, only appts.
