I would love to adopt a cat....but I don't know if my home could be suitable

I live in a one room apartment (technically 2 rooms with the bathroom), it's pretty small but I have a very big garden (not my own but shared with other from the neighbours..... What I like about it is that its closed and accessible only to me and the neighbours who lives here) anyway I could have him play outside but i am still dubious that my home is not enough..... So I would like to tell me directly if the cat could live happily or if it would be best to wait for the future where I have a bigger apartment / house
