I have noticed something I absolutely need to share. I have two new beautiful cats since 4-5 months. I love them. One of the two, every now and then (once every week or two weeks) suddenly freaks out. Literally she runs away from me, very scared. She hides and doesn't really seems to enjoy petting. But the rest of the time, she is really really really cuddly. She loves belly scratches and to be around me. She even likes to be picked up! What happened few times is that i noticed that when I am really stressed and want to pet her, this triggers her negative behaviour. And i just thought that this is what she is, nothing to do about it. I ended up being a little pissed, because that makes me feel even more stressed and sad. Today, however, i was super stressed because i had a job interview. As always, my cat was stressed as well and scared of me. I realized, however, that my sweat/skin smells differently when I am under a lot of pressure. It is definitely more pungent. I had a sort of aha moment! I ran under the shower and took my time to scrub any centimeter of my body. I went back to the cat and.... Bam! Some petting and she immediately turned on her back for belly rub! She is a different cat out of the sudden. What the fuck! I thought she was just behaving crazy every now and then, but now I guess it was me all the time. Is it possible? Do cats get scared when the owner is stressed? Anyone experienced anything similar? I feel so stupid for being mad at her (well, never actually did anything to her, but still...) :(
