hello! ill try to be as brief as posible and apologize in advance for my bad english! my adult cat named jo (3 years female) is hissing at me and running away from me since we brought a new kittwn home. to give some context, we uses to have 3 cats (two very old, 16 & 18 y/o) and jo. they both passed away earlier this ywar and my cat used to be very close to them, always sleeping and playing with them. we used to take the old cats to the vets regularly and she always waited behind the door for them to come back, which she continued to do after they passed away, that broke our hearts... like 10 weeks ago we decided to get a new kitten! at first jo was scared of her rather than mad, but now shes slowly getting used to her. the thing is, jo used to be exteemely close to me, always in my lap and sleeping with me, greeting me when i came home, purring, etc. now she hisses and growls at me which i had never seen her do, wont let me pet her, wont even come to my bedroom. shes getting acustomed little by little to the kitten, but she has made no changes towards me, i try to pet her and give jer atention but she genuinely wont let me, its breaking my heart, what should i do! is there a way for us to be close like before? i love her shes my baby! thanks in advance
