My cat is currently just over a year old and has lived at my parents house all his life, I am living 3 hours away in an apartment and I'm thinking about moving him in with me but I'm concerned how it would affect him. Reasons being:
-He currently lives in a large, 3 floor house, with a basement, garage, etc., so lots of room for activity
-He also gets outside sometimes, for up to 24 hours, though we try to keep him in. Again though, lots of activity and exercise
-The drive is 3 hours, and he does NOT like being in the car. Even the 15 minute drive to the vet can turn him into demon spawn
These are the primary three reasons, and even though I'm confident I would do my best to keep him entertained, busy, active, and happy, I'm worried he'll just find the transition too stressful at first, and then too dull being moved into a smaller environment.
It would really boost my mood and mental health to have him live with me, but I don't want it to negatively affect him.
