My dog has had hot spots pretty bad for about 3 months. We took her to the vet and they gave her an antibiotic and a cone that helped a lot. After about 2 months after the vet visit, and a month without the cone, she started biting at it again. She ended up giving herself more spots (which always bleeds) and we took her back to the vet. The vet says they aren't sure what's causing it and gave us a bottle of anti-itch spray and sent us on our way. It's been a little over a month since that visit and she's had the cone on ever since. She still bites anytime she's without the cone and managed to draw blood earlier when she knocked the cone off. Any ideas as to what's causing it and how I can fix it? Her fur is really rough in that area but asides from that I have no idea what the problem could be.
