I adopted two cats a few weeks ago. At their foster home, I believe they ate together from a large gravity auto feeder. I have been trying to feed them from their own separate bowls, but they both insist on trying to eat from the same one, usually at the same time.
The problem is, one cat tries to always be the first cat to the food and gobble up as much as she can before the other cat gets a chance. She will do this at both bowls. I am torn because I worry that if I leave a lot more food out, she will overeat, but if I don’t the other cat won’t get enough food.
Even when I try to give them treats, she will swallow hers super fast and then run and try to take the one I have given the other cat. I physically have to hold her back so my poor other kitty can have her treat.
Other than this issue, they don’t fight. They They play together and often sleep together.
I appreciate any advice on how to help with feeding times!
