Hello, I have a 8 month old cat. We give him 3 square meals everyday breakfast lunch and dinner. Typically, it was at about 8:30 in the morning, 2 p.m. and then about 9 at night. He is a Highlander lynx so he's supposed to become very large and we gave him about 7 or 7 and 1/2 oz wet food everyday throughout these three meals. Was try to to avoid getting a dry food because the vet told us not to. My problem is this: a couple of weeks ago I had a really late night and I overslept so around 9:45 in the morning he started scratching at my door because he was hungry for breakfast. Fair. Then the next day he started scratching on my door when he wanted breakfast which was at 9.is incrementally started scratching at my door earlier and earlier until now I cannot sleep past 5:50 in the morning. How do I get him to stop scratching at my door and wait for breakfast? He scratches as though he's never eaten in his life and he acts absolutely insatiable at every meal, but especially breakfast when I'm trying to sleep. Am I not feeding him enough? I already give him all the food I can afford and I water it down a little bit per my vet's recommendations to fill his tummy more. Nothing helps and he scratches and scratches and meows.
