I am about to have a newborn baby, who we will have sleep in our room. Ever since we have gotten our cat (3 years old) she has had access to the bedroom at night. For the past three weeks, we have shut her out. We want her to get used to not being able to come in the room anymore. The first week, she was fine, so we assumed it would be an easy transition. Now, she is tearing stuff up around the door. She sits and cries-sometimes even yowling for hours to be let in and will claw around the door.
There is no way I’m going to let her or my other cat sleep in here once the baby is born.
What can I do to make this easier for her?
