Any advice on how to get rid of fleas?

Hi everyone, I’m in desperate need of some help. My Newfie was in heat during December and was spayed in early January, we noticed her biting at her butt 2 weeks later but we thought it may be residual annoyance from her wearing the diaper because she didn’t like it. As it got worse we noticed there was scabbing so my husband took her to the vet yesterday and they said she has fleas. He said the vet pulled off 4 adult ones in the office and gave her capstar and sent one home for our sheltie along with seresto collars for both of them. Luckily I had just felt like cleaning earlier in the day and had washed our sheets and comforter plus vacuumed the apartment. Last night we gave both of the dogs baths with dawn, conditioned them, and brushed them. I have vacuumed my house for a second time, thrown away some rugs, thrown out all of the soft dog toys, and washed every single blanket, towel, and rug in the house. I have a bottle of vet’s best flea and tick home spray coming in the mail tomorrow along with a thing of hotshot and my husband plans to steam clean our whole apartment.

Before washing our sheltie I examined him (though it is hard to see with all that fluff) and it looked like there was nothing on him and I haven’t noticed anything off in my house/I haven’t felt any bites so I’m wondering if it was contained to just our Newfie but I read about how eggs can be all over the house and take some time to hatch. Is there anything else I can do to help resolve this issue as fast and effectively as possible?
