My cat is almost 2 years old now, and we have had them as an outdoor cat for a while now.(i know i know, it isnt good for cats to be outdoors) He usually spends the day out and comes home and eats, sleeps, and enjoys our company. These past 2 days however, he has been eating (not as much as he used to?) , and then trying to leave as quick as possible. My cat rarely meows, and when he does its very soft. Hes been meowing pretty loud(for his standard) and pawing at the door. He seems to freak out at every quick movement (never done that before) and doesnt want to sleep. My cat is close with the neighbors cats and my neighbors usually leave their garage door open for their cats to come and go,so my cat has gotten used to hanging around their place. We know if hes not home, hes in their garage with their cats.
I'm just worried for my cat and i dont know whats wrong with him. Am I just overthinking and this is normal behavior? Im keeping my cat in for the night (hes being very reluctant) in hopes to figure out what's wrong. I cleaned up and gave him fresh food and water, but that didnt help. I tried to give him a nice warm area to sleep but that didnt help. I tried giving him lots of attention, but everytime i did he would just run to the door.
Hes currently asleep on the table across from me but he doesnt seem to be in deep sleep. Any help/advice would be helpful thank you!
