Beginners guide to guinea pigs

Hi guys

I’m considering getting either guinea pigs or a hamster as a first time pet and was wondering if there’s anything I’d need to know before getting one. I’ve done pretty much all the research I can and have read several books but figured this would be a good place to get real life experience.
