Hi everyone. Title is pretty much self explanatory. I have lurked for a long while but I need advice on this one. My son is eight years old and he has a friend who lost their beloved family pet today. I know how it’s sometimes so hard for people who’ve never had a pet to relate to losing one. I have never had a dog in our own family when I was much younger, but we had a goat (long story) and when she died we were inconsolable... still painful to talk about for the most part. I can understand how it feels to lose family. Should I just offer condolences? Send a card? Bake a cake? I don’t know what else to say other than I’m sorry. Is that sufficient? I do not want to post details out of respect for the family, also they may be on reddit. Thank you
