Advice for adopting cat as a soon-to-be college grad

Hi everyone,

I’m in my final few months of undergrad and am looking into the possibility of adopting a cat. I am planning on moving halfway across the country upon graduation, assuming I am able to get a job in my desired city. I am trying to save as much money as possible for my possible move, so that is obviously something I’m considering quite a bit. I think it would definitely be better to get and older cat that is already spayed/neutered and has all of its shots. I also know cats can live up to 15 years, so given that I don’t know what my living situation might be in a few months, getting an older cat just seems like the right way to go. Am I correct in thinking getting an older cat would be the right move? Would it be better to get a cat now or should I possibly wait until I do possibly move to a new city across the country? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!!
